The Four Gates Acupuncture Points
Our Acu-Facelift treatment allows women, who are wanting to age gracefully and naturally, to receive a treatment that will encourage rejuvenation not only externally but internally too.

Our modern lifestyle has some of us ageing prematurely and experiencing increased external signs of ageing like dull and dry skin, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, large pores and facial asymmetry. Internally, inflammation is bubbling underneath the surface causing aches & pains, lack of energy, poor memory and digestion.

The Acu-Facelift treatment addresses these issues by using a combination of microcurrent acupressure therapy, non-needle acupuncture, meridian balancing, non-toxic skincare, diet & lifestyle advice.

Some of the acupuncture points used in the treatment are known as Four Gates. It is a combination of 2 different acupoints. One point, Large Intestine 4 (He Gu), is on the dorsum of the hand. The other point, Liver 3 (Tai Chong), is on the dorsum of the foot.

Large Intestine (LI4) – Immune Booster/Pain Reliever
This point is great to use for many different conditions. It is used to strengthen one’s immune system or decrease the duration of colds and/or the flu. It can also be used for any type of problem with the face which includes jaw pain, toothache, allergies, acne. It is also a great point to relieve a headache or to clear heat and inflammation anywhere in the body. This point is to be avoided during pregnancy.

The point is located on the hands, between the webbing of the thumb and index fingers.
LI4
Liver 3 (LV3) – Keeping Things Moving
This point can balance, tonify, or disperse stagnant liver energy.  It can be used for any liver energy disharmony. Just a few examples of this include: menstrual disorders/irregularities, headaches, dizziness, and detoxification. It can also be used to create a calming effect on the nervous system to alleviate insomnia, irritability, stress, and anxiety.

The point is located on the top of the feet, between the big toe and second toe, on the groove distal to the 1st and 2nd metatarsal bone.
Together, these points work to circulate the qi and blood through the body. They help to open all the meridians, increase circulation, and decrease pain anywhere in the body.

Four Gates can also be used for emotional issues as well, such as feelings of being trapped or stuck in a situation. This is a great point combination to help maintain the free flow of qi and blood through our bodies.

As you can see, there are great benefits for this point combination and why it's included in our Acu-Facelift protocol.
